Lead Stacked

A repeated gesture over raw canvas grain is an accumulation that has created this series of graphite drawings. Thousands of lines have been stacked to build these textured and tactile compositions. Produced on unstretched canvas, the drawings which finish as a square, are pleated, sewn, and stretched to create the varying compositions. The examples presented here represent three different methods of the same process; each work focuses on one material association: stone, wood, metal, etc.
