The Affairs 

The figurative works are an investigation into the constraints of materiality, but expand on the process with folding, mirroring, and establishing a tactile ground from which to search for an associative character. The process of becoming in these work is grounded in the inherent structure of the canvas; the canvas here becomes skin and the whole composition defines the human figure and relates to the human scale. Although they are technically painted works, they straddle the definition of painting and drawing.
