The Waves
A set of 32 paintings that move thematically in intensity and style. Created between 2016 and 2017 for a spring exhibition, the paintings were double hung along narrow 8' tall corridors to create a undulating, but consistant rhythm. The negative space of the raw canvas becomes as essential as the inked, deconstructed middle sections. The titles of the pieces refer to the spacing of sections on the front surface of the canvas.
